Dr. Kathryn Gutzwiller, Professor of Classics, University of Cincinnati: “Female Practices as Models for Hellenistic Poetry”
Marshall University will host Kathryn Gutzwiller, former president of the Society for Classical Studies, for a lecture planned for 2 p.m. Thursday, March 29, in Room 102 of Harris Hall.
Gutzwiller, who is a professor of Classics at the University of Cincinnati and is a Marshall alumna, will be delivering a talk entitled “Female Practices as Models for Hellenistic Poetry.”
The event will be free, open to the public, and great for those interested in poetry, the ancient world, and women’s lives. Gutzwiller has been noted for discussing cutting-edge research in an exciting way that is appealing to a general audience.
The lecture will be followed by a reception with refreshments.
