Nutrition and Cancer Center COBRE awarded a $1+ million dollar supplement from the NCRR, NIH to establish a WV Cancer Genomics Network
July 20, 2009
In partnership with the Edwards Cancer Center and the Mary Babb Randolph Cancer Center at West Virginia University, all tumors, with patient consent, removed at surgery will have a portion "banked" for genetic analysis of the cancer cells. The accumulated information can then be "mined" to identify new targets for therapy, to correlate tumor genetic profiles with patient nutritional assessment and to assess risk of tumor recurrence. |
