Biography

Meet Dr. Alberto Coustasse, an exceptional Healthcare Management and Administration professor at Marshall University’s Lewis College of Business. Dr. Coustasse’s unique background includes teaching master’s programs such as Health Informatics and Healthcare Administration and Doctoral programs such as Nurse Anesthesia and Doctor in Business Administration. He has published over 150 research manuscripts in highly reputable journals like JAMA, Health Care Management Review, Telemedicine and eHealth, Permanente Journal, the Journal of Ambulatory Care Management, Perspectives AHIMA Journal, and many more. His research contributions have earned him numerous awards, including the LCOB Robert P. Alexander Research Faculty Award in 2019 and 28 best paper research awards from various organizations.

Dr. Coustasse’s expertise and reputation in the healthcare industry are further evidenced by his role as a respected reviewer for top research journals like JAMA, Health Services Research, Pediatrics, and many others. He has also served as a grant reviewer for reputable organizations such as the Swiss National Science Foundation, the Israel Science Foundation, the University of Ottawa’s Medical Research Fund, and the Austrian Science Fund. Dr. Coustasse was the founder of Business Research Conference and the Health Informatics program. He was the Chair of the Research committee from 2017-2023 and, since August 2021, he has been the Program Director of the Health Informatics program. He holds multiple positions, including Chair of the LCOB P&T committee, member of the Research Committee, and Co-Director of the LCOB AOL Task Force since 2018.
