Position Title: H.E.L.P. Program Director, MU Higher Education Learning Problems Program.

Special Note:  
Qualifications: A graduate degree, preferable a doctoral degree in an appropriate field; demonstrated expertise in the field of learning disabilities and reading education; proven leadership skills and administrative experience; high-level professional communication skills; experience with fundraising, grant writing and budget management. 
Duties: Directing the core activities associated with the College HELP, Community HELP, Medical HELP, and Diagnostic Testing programs; promoting the financial viability of the Center by working with the Business Manager to manage the budget as well as directing fundraising, grant writing, and the development of current and potential donors; promoting the Center by overseeing advertising, directing public relations and media relations, and participating in conference presentations at national and regional associations to highlight the programs at the Center; supervising the hiring, training and evaluation of coordinators, tutors and graduate assistants; representing the Center as liaison to the HELP Center Board of Advisors and to the marshall University Dean of the College of Education, the Provost, the President, and the Board of Governors.

Position Title: Assistant/Associate Professor, Special Education/School of Education - College of Education.

Position Type: Tenure track position. Rank and Salary: Commensurate with qualifications and experience. 
Special Note:  
Qualifications: Doctorate in special education or related field preferred; ABD considered with confirmed dissertation defense data before August 1, 2012; coursework that shows an emphasis in gifted education; experience working with children and youth who are talented and gifted with at least three years public school teaching experience. 
Duties: Coordinate graduate gifted program; revise current program into a full-online, nationally recognized program; advise graduate and undergraduate students; teach graduate courses in giftedness, special education research and student assessment; provide leadership in the field of gifted education through research and participation in professional association activities, through involvement in local and state school districts' efforts to improve gifted programs, and through consultation to groups and individuals seeking appropriate educational programs for gifted students. The department also seeks candidates who will contribute to the University's general education curriculum with its emphasis on a common First-Year Seminar and core curriculum courses that enhance students' critical thinking, and the College's support of interdisciplinary programs of study. Faculty are expected to maintain and contribute to the ongoing collection of assessment data for NCATE reaccreditation consideration.

Position Type: Tenure Track position. Rank and Salary: Commensurate with qualifications and experience. 
Special Note:  
Qualifications: Doctorate preferred, ABD with dissertation defense data before August 1 accepted, with degree in reading education preferred; three years of public school teaching experience required and teaching in higher education preferred. Excellent ability to collaborate with higher education and K-12 faculty in coordinating graduate and undergraduate programs, oversee IRA Accreditation and program reviews. 
Duties: Faculty are required to teach undergraduate/graduate courses in area, supervise/advise students, and provide excellent evidence of teaching, research, scholarly activities, and service. The department also seeks candidates who will contribute to the University's general education curriculum with its emphasis on a common First-Year Seminar and core curriculum courses that enhance students' critical thinking, and the College's support of interdisciplinary programs of study. Faculty are expected to maintain and contribute to the ongoing collection of assessment data for NCATE reaccreditation consideration.
