IMPACT Dinner Scheduled for March 8

The IMPACT Action Teams for the College of Education and
Human
Services will have a dinner meeting on Friday, March 8, at 5:00 PM in
the John Marshall Dining Room. IMPACT is an acronym for a Teacher
Quality grant with the West Virginia Department of Education and means
Implementing Model Practices to Assure Competent Teachers.
Agenda items for the evening include the following:
- West
Virginia plan for mentoring new and beginning teachers in West
Virginia presented by Victoria Smith;
- The
creation of a Professional Development Team (PDT) model for teacher
preparation, a collaborative venture with Spring Valley High School
teachers, presented by Jane McKee, and
- A
professional development training opportunity the Charlotte Danielson
model presented by Jane McKee.
