Ellen Galinksy to Speak March 25

Ellen Galinsky03.12.2001: Ellen Galinsky is co-founder and president of the Families and Work Institute, a Manhattan based nonprofit center for research on the changing family, workplace, and community.

Her recent studies include Women: The New Providers (1995) and the 1997 update of the National Study of the Changing Workforce. Her groundbreaking research studies on work and family life have received national recognition.

She is the author of sixteen books, including The Preschool Years and The Six Stages of Parenthood.

Ellen Galinksy will present a public lecture at Marshall University on Monday, March 25, 2002 at 4:00 PM in the Alumni Lounge of the Memorial Student Center. Her lecture is being sponsored by the Marshall University Child Development Academy. Funding for her visit has also been provided by the Childcare Access Means Parents in Schools Grant from the United States Department of Education.

Ms. Galinksy is a native of West Virginia with family currently living in Huntington. Several years ago, she was awarded an honorary doctorate by Marshall University.
