Clinical Experiences

School of Education Majors:

The following courses require a clinical experience. You must have time allotted in your schedule for these clinical experiences. You must make arrangements to be available during normal school hours (8am to 3pm). The hours are listed beside the course.

CLINICAL EXPERIENCE HOURS:

Please click below for a printable list of classes required for CI, CISP, ECE and EDF courses. Remember that time must be allotted in the schedule, Monday through Friday between 8:00 AM and 3:00 PM for completion of the clinical hours on this list.

The teacher candidate must have sophomore status.

The teacher candidate must register for EDF 270/537 as a co-requisite to EDF 218/EDF 616 (MAT students)/EDF 619 (Post BA students).

The Level II consists of one of the following courses:

CI 470: clinical experience for secondary education majors
CI 471: clinical experience for elementary education majors
CI 472: clinical experience for music education majors
EDF 637: clinical experience for Masters of Arts education majors

Students will enroll in one of these courses depending upon their chosen major.

Teacher candidates who qualify for student teaching are nearing completion of requirements for their specific certification programs. They have completed at least 80 hours of clinical experiences in public schools and have met the standards for student teaching set by the School of Education in accordance with policies set by the West Virginia Department of Education...
