Assistant/Associate Professor - Counseling,
HDAT-Counseling Program/COEHS.

One year temporary 9-month appointment.

Rank and Salary: Commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Qualifications: An earned doctorate in Counselor Education or related area with an emphasis in Community or Mental Counseling preferred; applicants should be licensed or eligible for licensure as a counselor in WV within two years and have clinical experience in community or mental health settings; applicants should also possess a demonstrated record of college teaching, evidence of or capacity for scholarly activity and knowledge/experience in using technology to deliver instruction.

Duties: Teach graduate level counseling courses as assigned, advise students, and engage in scholarly activities and service.

Associate Dean for Students - COEHS. (Pos. #331)
Full-time, tenure track position.

Rank and Salary: Commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Qualifications: Earned doctorate in related field and at least 5 years experience working with students.

Duties: Provide administrative leadership for the Student Services Office in a variety of areas related to student support; develop enhanced advising programs that strengthen faculty-student advising relationships and enable students to take full advantage of an open learning environment; articulate COEHS’s advising philosophy and educational mission to faculty, students, and their parents, and work with deans and directors on new initiatives that connect students’ academic experiences to the full life of the College; teach ¼ time (three hours per semester); develop, implement, and assess an annual college recruitment and retention plan, with short and long term goals; nurture relationships with students, faculty, staff, and alumni in support of attracting highly qualified students; provide leadership to the development of marketing materials that are geared to attract students; serve on the Leadership Team, Executive Cabinet, UPCC, & GPCC; oversee existing scholarships and work with Director of Development to seek additional funding; create a system that will highlight student successes and evaluate students’ Plans of Success; direct professional and support staff in the student services area; mentor junior and new faculty members in the academic advising process through orientation sessions and one-on-one meetings; coordinate the college’s participation in summer orientation; evaluate all aspects of operation in the student services area to update and make more efficient; oversee the implementation of a digital student records system; assist data base manager, certification personnel and clinical people in streamlining processes and making them student friendly; assist with accreditation and activities; provide leadership to the COEHS Student Advisory Board, so students have a voice; act as a consultant on student lead activities: research projects with faculty, international trips, service learning projects, tutoring programs, etc.; oversee the operation of the student services area: probation, appeals, approvals, athletic eligibility, etc.; represent and report to the Executive Dean and the Dean’s Office as appropriate; other duties as assigned.

Administrative Assistant for Research, Policy and Economic Literacy, COEHS Research & Policy Center. (Pos. #MURC405)
Full-time position. Salary: $20,000-25,000/annually.

Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in business, computer science, mathematics, education or related field and at least 6 months of experience. Master's degree preferred. Proficiency with computers, software systems, statistical analyses programs, and grant writing is also preferred. Must be able to work autonomously and have the ability to multitask and prioritize. Candidate is expected to have solid analytic, communications, interpersonal, and writing skills; must be attentive to detail and able to organize and complete multiple tasks in a fast paced, team-oriented environment. Experience with and knowledge of global awareness, curriculum development, integration of 21st Century learning skills, and evaluation of curriculum implementation is preferred.

Duties: Oversee projects and GAs in the COEHS Research & Policy Center: keeping an updated records on all grants and/or projects in the COEHS; update faculty and administration with regular progress reports; help create annual reports for each grant that requires one; schedule usage of work stations in R&P Center, as needed; provide GAs and faculty training in statistical programs such as SPSS and SAS; seek additional information on grants for faculty members; facilitate grant funded research projects for dean's office; help College write grant proposals; conduct reviews on the literature for grant projects; collect state and national data to be used for seeking funding and writing issues; help with the collection of data; help with the IRB process. Coordinate economic literacy and global awareness for model school/s: research economic and global topics for educators in the model school project; work with faculty to help design a technology infused curriculum for economic and global education; act as a resource for teachers in the model school/s; facilitate the implementation plan for economic and global awareness; design research projects to evaluate the implementation of best practices at model school sites; other duties as assigned.
