MUEEC Classroom
Marshall University's Early Education Center is a
nationally accredited laboratory for the College of Education and Human
Services at Marshall University. The MUEEC promotes the
development of social competency, communication abilities, thinking
processes, feelings of self worth, aesthetic appreciation and
independence. The children actively participate in constructing
their learning through a play-based negotiated curriculum rooted in
problem solving.
The Early Education Center offers two class sessions
Monday through Thursday during Marshall University's fall and spring
semester. The Center's regular hours are 8:30 am to 3:30 pm.
The Center also offers extended sessions during the summer.
MUEEC Enrollment
Children ages three through five are eligible for
enrollment; children must be age three by October 31st. A waiting
list is maintained for interested families. Families may place
their child on the waiting list by completing an enrollment form.
Because the Center is an early childhood laboratory and research based
facility, the MUEEC aims to maintain a balance child population,
including children from varied social, cultural and economic
backgrounds, as well as a balance among genders and ages. When
enrolling children for the program we consider these factors in addition
to the date of application.
