Barbara O’Byrne provided background information, writing course imbedded into literacy program which meets NCATE & IRA Standards
M. Sullivan made a motion to approved the course addition; M. Harris-John, second; motion passed
· Leadership Studies
o Change requirements for Leadership Specialist Area of Emphasis
§ Change required hours from 36 to 30

o Change in prerequisite course for Education Leadership Area of Emphasis
§ Remove LS 500 as prerequisite course for others in the program

· Counseling Program
o Effective July 1, 2009 all counseling program emphases (Mental Health, School, Corrections & Marriage, Couple & Family Counseling) will be 60 hours
o Effective July 1, 2009 (or next Graduate Catalog edition) Community, Addictions, Student Affairs, Career Development & Religious Settings counseling emphases will be suspended due to low enrollment will not be listed in the graduate catalog until further notice. Students already admitted in those emphasis areas will complete their approved plans of study.
