A Message from Dean Donald Van Horn
Opportunities abound for students interested in pursuing artistic growth and intellectual stimulation in the College of Fine Arts at Marshall University. Whether you are interested in performing with one of the many exciting groups such as the Marshall University Jazz Ensemble, experiencing the exhilaration of those first glimpses of a new glaze revealed on a ceramic piece being pulled from the kiln, or the challenge of portraying Juliet in William Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet or Lennie in John Steinbeck’s Of Mice and Men, we have the academic programs, outstanding faculty, and the necessary facilities to help you realize your dream. We invite you to consider joining the artistic community at Marshall, where our central responsibility is the education of students in the fine and performing arts. We take a hands on approach in meeting that responsibility, and we believe you will find our programs to be challenging and supportive, demanding yet rewarding, and thoroughly exciting! We are extremely proud of what we offer in the College of Fine Arts at Marshall. The creative spirit is contagious, enthusiasm runs high, and the sense of community is strong.
Come be a part of Marshall as a student in the College of Fine Arts!
