From Marshall's Admissions page:
Huntington is a diverse and colorful city. With a population of just over 50,000, it is the second largest city in West Virginia. Marshall University, with its 16,000 students and thousands of staff and faculty members, forms the heart of the Huntington community. Make no mistake about it, Huntington is a college town through and through.
Huntington has a thriving live music scene, and thanks to Marshall's own Thundering Herd, world-class sports events are regular occurrences. Pullman Square -- a $54 million retail and entertainment complex opened in 2004 -- is set to bring yet more excitement to Huntington's already bustling downtown area.
