Featuring Marshall Jazz Faculty and special guest, Sim Flora, trombone.

Greetings from Marshall University! We are busily planning this summer’s Jazz-MU-Tazz camp. Just in case you haven’t heard about the festival, we would like to make sure that you have the information and an application.

Jazz-MU-Tazz begins on Monday, June 10at 9:00 a.m. in the Jomie Jazz Building. During the camp we will have classes in jazz performance and improvisation, as well as other relative music topics. We will also have a large “Jazz-MU-Tazz Festival Ensemble” that will perform in a finale concert (June 15) at the Pullman Square Plaza. This is one of the summer season’s most popular concert venues.

Jazz-MU-Tazz participants have the choice of staying on campus or commuting from home. If you choose to stay in the dorm, you will be at Marshall Commons—one of the newest and most comfortable housing facilities on campus. Meals are available at the Harless Dining Room (in the same complex). High school age students will be supervised by Jazz-MU-Tazz staff members and by residence hall personnel.

In addition to the daily classes, evening activities round out each day. Concerts, jam sessions, and recreational activities will make your participation at Jazz-MU-Tazz a fun-filled and valuable experience!
