How do I become a Marshall student?
You must first be admitted to the University. If you have never attended Marshall or attended another college or university after your last Marshall enrollment, then your first step is to the Marshall Admissions Office. If you attended Marshall previously but never went to any other schools, then you start by completing paperwork in the Registrar's Office.
How do I become an RN to BSN student after admission to Marshall?
You must complete and mail the online application, provide the required documentation and the $30 application fee. All paperwork must be sent to the RN to BSN Advisor at Marshall University.

Is the RN to BSN program online?
The program is completely online. The courses are asynchronous meaning the student is not required to be logged in the computer at a certain day and time each week.
What documentation is required?
Current CPR certification (Red Cross Provider for Adult and Child), 2 step TB test results, Health Form, Technical Standards Form, Drug Screen, Background Check, and Verification of current RN license.
Will I receive credit for my diploma or associate nursing degree?
The School of Nursing awards 40 hours of undergraduate nursing credit for RN licensure after 12 nursing credit hours are complete.
What are the costs for the RN to BSN program?
Undergraduate Online course fees are $215 per credit hour. Does not include additional fees.

Do I need a RN license?
Yes, all students in the RN to BSN program must have a valid, unencumbered RN license by the second semester enrolled in the program. This allows time for new graduate nurses to obtain their RN license.
How many clinical hours are students required to complete in the RN to BSN program?
There is no set number of clinical hours for this program. Students will complete field assignments for clinical courses in order to meet the course objectives.
How long does it take to complete the program?
If all the general education requirements are completed, the student may complete the program in 2 semesters (full time). Part time students or students needing general education or program specific required courses will take longer.
