Eligibility Requirements for Graduate Practicum |
Appropriate clinical background
and experience is prerequisite to enrollment in advanced practicum.
Prior to enrolling in either CD 672/673 or 670/671 all students must first successfully
- demonstrate that they have successfully
completed 60 clinical clock hours of observation of speech/language case
management (successful completion of CD 426L or 526L and 427L and 527L
fulfill this requirement).
- demonstrate that they have completed a
minimum of 25 clinical clock hours of verified clinical practicum in the
the MUSHC or in any site directly supervised by a member of the
department's faculty (successful completion of CD 424L or 524L and CD
570/571 usually fulfill this requirement).
- have been recommended by the faculty for
advanced graduate practicum. Students must obtain and maintain
clinical eligibility each semester before enrolling in practicum for a
subsequent semester (students who are not recommended or who receive
conditional eligibility will be notified in writing).
Students who do not
meet eligibility requirements for CD 570/571 or for advanced graduate practicum
must contact the Clinic Director and their advisor to determine if there is an
appropriate course of action to remediate these deficits. |
