Policy: 
Eligibility Requirements for Graduate Practicum
Appropriate clinical background and experience is prerequisite to enrollment in advanced practicum. Prior to enrolling in either CD 672/673 or 670/671 all students must first successfully 
  1. demonstrate that they have successfully completed 60 clinical clock hours of observation of speech/language case management (successful completion of CD 426L or 526L and 427L and 527L fulfill this requirement).
  2. demonstrate that they have completed a minimum of 25 clinical clock hours of verified clinical practicum in the the MUSHC or in any site directly supervised by a member of the department's faculty (successful completion of CD 424L or 524L and CD 570/571 usually fulfill this requirement).
  3. have been recommended by the faculty for advanced graduate practicum.  Students must obtain and maintain clinical eligibility each semester before enrolling in practicum for a subsequent semester (students who are not recommended or who receive conditional eligibility will be notified in writing).

Students who do not meet eligibility requirements for CD 570/571 or for advanced graduate practicum must contact the Clinic Director and their advisor to determine if there is an appropriate course of action to remediate these deficits.
