Policy:
Special Arrangements Policy |
Regular class attendance
is considered requisite to successful completion of a course. For this
reason, permission to attend a class on a less then regular basis and/or
permission to "attend" class by tape recording the class may be considered
only under the following circumstances:
-
The instructor of the course
is agreeable to the special arrangements.
-
The student has shown promise
for successful, independent work by having a graduate GPA of 3.3.
-
The student has a valid reason
why he/she cannot attend the class regularly and demonstrates that denial
of permission to take the course by special arrangement would cause an
unreasonable delay in his/her completion of the program.
-
The student has submitted to
the Graduate faculty, in writing, a request for such arrangements documenting
#1-3 above and listing the specifics of the requested arrangements.
-
The student agrees to attend
in person classes in which exams and oral activities have been schedules
and other times whenever possible. He/She will be responsible for contacting
the class instructor to finalize the arrangements prior to the first class
meeting.
-
Permission for this request
is approved by the faculty prior to the first day of class.
