Special Guests

Hey everyone, I hope you’ve had a great weekend! Typically, I use the weekends to sleep in and relax but with the Olympics being on so early in the morning, I missed out on that this weekend. Getting up at 7:30 on a Saturday is tough but worth it to see a hockey game as exciting as USA vs Russia was! But enough about that…

On Friday, we had a special guest visit our group and tell us a little about himself. Dr. William Pewen,Director of the Master’s in Public Health Program, stopped by to introduce himself and tell us about his history in research and as a professional. Dr. Pewen has had a very full and interesting life. He has had opportunities to work in Congress next to the President of the United States and even contributed to early research on the AIDs epidemic in the 1980s. It was great listening to Dr. Pewen tell his story and sense the enthusiasm and joy he has in teaching and contributing to research.

My apologies for being so brief today! It’s been a hectic weekend and looks to remain equally busy all week. That’s life, I suppose! I hope you all have a good week. Enjoy the upcoming warm weather – unless you prefer the cold like myself! Thanks, as always, for reading.
