CORP Meeting: October 29, 2010

CORP got in the Hallo-weekend spirit this morning with spooktacular presentations from three new participants… Emily Shamblin’s project on behavioral testing in conditioned play audiometry is coming along as a detailed survey which generated much discussion, including this point:

“Practice doesn’t change unless there’s evidence to support it.”

Betsy Jordan is looking at the function of language in event memories; she and Dr. McComas have decided on a case study approach in order to help direct the next steps of what looks to be an intriguing project.
Mona Drake is conducting a literature review, looking at how parents view their own children who are labeled as having a disability. So far, she has identified four broad sections in which parents talk about their children. Mona and another CORP member (not sure who!) provided a fantastic morning snack – jack ‘o lanterns filled with fruit!
