CORP Meeting: March 18, 2011

In this morning’s meeting, McKenzie Ross and Krista Bias shared a literature review of service learning in the fields of education and health professions. The information shared included the differences between service learning and volunteerism as well as the types of learning that occur in this context and the academic connections students make through real-life experiences. The presenters finished by leading an engaging discussion with faculty and students regarding character education and thoughts on service learning versus community service and the implication for KASA outcomes in a CSD curriculum by involving service learning in CSD courses.
