Juniors

Juniors are students with 58 to 89 overall credit hours. Transfer hours are included in your overall hours. Juniors are required to speak with an academic advisor for an academic evaluation the semester you reach junior status.

Junior Evaluations

Junior evaluations are completed in two steps.

  1. Stop in or call the College of Science's Deans Office and a request for Junior Evaluation be conducted.
  2. Set up an appointment to meet with an academic advisor to review your progress toward graduation.
  3. bullet Advisors need time to review your file before discussing your progress.

Student Responsibilities

bullet Accept full ownership for his/her decisions and actions.
bullet Prepare for advising sessions and bring appropriate resources or materials.
bullet Follow through on actions identified during each advising session.
bullet Become knowledgeable of and adhere to institutional policies, procedures, and requirements.
bullet Evaluate the advising system, when requested, in order to strengthen the advising process.

Academic Advisors assist students in:

bullet Developing course schedules which consider the student's academic and career goals.
bullet Understanding the academic requirements by the College of Sciences and Marshall University.
bullet Understanding Marshall University's policies and procedures
bullet Establishing academic and career goals.
bullet Finding resources to help students with academic or personal difficulties.
