I am a Professor of Criminal Justice and the Department Chair. I also serve as a part-time Assistant Prosecuting Attorney for Cabell County, West Virginia.

Teaching and Research Interests

 

I generally teach Advanced Legal Research and Writing, Criminal Law, Criminal Procedure, Advanced Criminal Law and Procedure, Corrections and the Law, Law of Evidence, Domestic and Family Violence, Internships, Problem Reports, Seminar in Criminal Justice, Legal Issues and Court Procedures for Forensic Scientists and Independent Studies.


I am currently completing a research project regarding the use and availability of firearms in domestic violence incidents in West Virginia. I have completed research projects in domestic violence, law enforcement response to domestic violence, child abuse and neglect, and sexual assault.
