Glenn W. Burner Memorial Scholarship
- The Glenn Burner Memorial Scholarship
is open to all Criminal Justice Majors. Preference is given to graduate
students, especially returning students. The scholarship winner is
chosen by the Criminal Justice Faculty and is awarded during the Spring
Semester at the Criminal Justice Awards Dinner. Applications can
be obtained at the Criminal Justice Office.
Gene Crawford Memorial Scholarship
- The Gene Crawford Memorial Scholarship
is open to all students. Preference is given to Criminal Justice
Majors and majors which involve helping the physically and mentally challenged
or working with victims. Individuals who have been involved in criminal
justice activities, Campus Watch and Special Olympics are highly considered
for the scholarship. Applications can be picked up in the Women's
Center.
Scholarship Waivers
- A limited number of three credit
hour fee waivers are available to students who manage to sustain an outstanding
grade point average in graduate study. Need-based waivers are available
to students who demonstrate financial need. Applications can be picked
up in the Graduate College Office.
Work Study
- A number of Work Study positions
are available to graduate students who meet the guidelines for Work Study.
Federal funds pay for the graduate student to work for their, or other,
programs. Eligibility is determined by need. In some cases Work Study can
be converted to a Graduate Assistantship. Tuition Waivers may also be possible
with these positions. See the Graduate College or the
Criminal Justice Department.
Summer Thesis Awards
- The Graduate Student Council's
Research Committee judges proposals for thesis grants for the summer.
Those whose proposals are chosen are awarded $500. See your advisor
or the Graduate College Office personnel for details.
WVSC Cooperative Minority Graduate
Assistantships
- The Office of Multicultural Affairs
and International Programs offers Graduate Assistantship opportunities
for African American graduates of West Virginia State College. Applications
can be picked up in the Graduate College Office.
Others
- Other financial aid sources may
be available through the Financial Aid Office. Please contact the
Financial Aid Office for other information.
