Dr. Riley welcomed the board and informed them that the purpose of the special called teleconference was to approve an agenda item to request a tuition increase for the Marshall Community and Technical College. The Provost recommended that the College raise the tuition no more than 3% for academic year 2004-2005. A 3% increase would equal approximately $3.25 per credit hour.

Also included in the agenda item was one proposed fee increase for the Portfolio Evaluation Fee (from $150 to $300), which has been set at the state level as part of the new Board of Governors Associate Degree.

After discussion by the board members concerning the affects increased tuition might have on enrollment, Mr. Bill Smith made a motion to accept the agenda item as proposed. Mr. Jason Moses seconded the motion, motion carried.

Dr. Riley reminded the Board that the next regularly scheduled meeting will be held April 21, 2004 at 8:00 a.m.
