The meeting was convened at 2:00 p.m. by Nedra Lowe, Chair.

- The minutes of the February 24, 2004 meeting were approved as read.
(There was no March meeting due to schedule conflicts)

A. Updates |
|
- Nedra shared with members the memo to Dr. Riley regarding the
breakdown of numbers of students who took the Work Keys test, both
for 2004 and for 2003 for comparison.
- The Graduating Student Survey is now available to students online,
beginning with summer classes, and will provide immediate results.
- The Graduate Survey (different from the Graduating Student Survey)
has been modified so that the questions are geared toward MCTC
students. This survey is mailed to students with their diploma. It can
be further modified if needed.

B. IE/OA Toolkit |
|
- Item #12 on the Course Outline Form (regarding Assessment and
Grading) - emphasis on Gen. Ed. philosophy should be incorporated
into this part of the course outline for all courses.
- Item #17 on the Course Outline Form (regarding Gen. Ed. core degree
requirements) applies to courses not programs. Item #18 (regarding
objectives and outcomes) refers to specific intended course outcomes
and can include the traditional chapter/section breakdown.
- The role of the Assessment Committee members for the coming school year
is to assist the divisions in the continued work on the completion of the
Toolkit and to act as liaison for information from the Assessment Committee
to the divisions, faculty in particular.
