A. |
Members elected committee officers for the academic year. Committee Chair will be
Nedra Lowe. Secretary will be Jenka Lockwood.
|
|
B. |
Members voted in favor forwarding a recommendation to the Faculty Council that the
Committee be allowed to have all members whose division/department is completing
the Toolkit be voting members. Up until now, the members representing Continuing
Education and the Advising Center have been ex-officio members.
Other changes to the Committee will be:
*A replacement for Pattie Walker
*Representation from Classified Staff
|
|
C. The role of the Committee for 2004 - 2005 will be: |
|
|
- to serve as peer reviewers to divisions/departments completing a toolkit.
- to serve as a connection between the divisions and the Committee.
- to become aware of various assessment activities, particularly program-specific
assessment activities.
- to become familiar with the new Share Point computer program that will serve as
an internal website where documents such as course outlines, curriculum tools,
and course outlines may be shared among all CTC faculty and staff.

Nedra reported that there has been a problem with the online version of the
Graduating Student Survey. Students are either not completing it as planned, or the
data from the surveys is not being collected in the program data base as planned.
The problem is still being studied.
Committee members suggested it may be beneficial to target one class to complete
survey together in order to identify the problems.

|
E. |
Our efforts to improve the administration and awareness of the Work Keys Tests are
resulting in better data collection and improved overall operation of the testing of all
students. However, we are still not analyzing the data as efficiently as we should be.
Dr. Scherer recommends that the Work Keys Testing data and the Graduating Student
Survey data be made available to faculty, but that we must first devise a way of presenting
findings in a meaningful and understandable way.

F. |
Programs up for review this academic year are:
*Interior Design
*General Studies
*Manufacturing / Engineering Tech (postponed because there is no lead
faculty in place at this time; specialized accreditation has already been
deferred.)
