Edward Lamar Bays, B.S., NREMT-P



Edward came to MCTC in 2001 from the Cabell County EMS where he served as a field paramedic for twelve years. Prior to working for the Cabell County EMS, Ed began his EMS career in the mid 80’s for Lincoln County, WV EMS serving as an volunteer driver then EMT. Ed began his paid career fro Trans-Med Ambulance Service of Huntington where he worked as an EMT until being hired by the Cabell County EMS. He also began working in 1993 for Cabell Huntington Hospital as a communicator in the Medical Command Center and as a Flight Paramedic for Healthnet III, both of which he continues today.

Ed also is active in teaching continuing education classes in the area serving as an instructor in CPR, ACLS, PALS, EMS-C and EVOC.

Travis H. Carlton, PTA, MS Program Coordinator, Associate Professor



Mr. Carlton serves as the coordinator for the Physical Therapist Assistant Program. He has served as the Northeast Regional Director of the National Assembly for Physical Therapist Assistants and currently serves on WV Physical Therapy Association Board of Directors as the PTA Representative to the National PTA Caucus. Mr. Carlton has over 21 years of clinical experience to include 13 as an academic program administrator. He is a recipient of the Navy Achievement Medal for professionalism in the provision of physical therapy services.

Mr. Carlton currently teaches Introduction to Physical Therapy, Functional Anatomy, Pathology and Adult Rehabilitation. He has a physical therapist assistant degree from Saint Phillips College, a Bachelor of Science in psychology from Missouri State University, and a Master of Science in Health Administration from Southwest Baptist University.

He is currently a student of Marshall University’s Graduate School pursuing a educational specialist (Ed.S) degree.
