1. Customized Training:
The Bank Teller Training program provides a comprehensive interactive curriculum based on
competencies created by the American Bankers Association (ABA) and the American Institute
of Banking (AIB). West Virginia Bankers Association is a local ABA Training Provider.
Participants will learn the skills such as check handling, processing transaction, handling
cash and a cash drawer, cash balancing process, dealing with security issues, customer
service techniques, and many others. Please refer to the program outline for a detailed
description of the training.
2. College Credit:
Successful completion of the Bank Teller Training program will qualify all participants
for six credit-hours towards the associate degree in Banking and Finance through Marshall
Community and Technical College (Participants must enroll in Marshall Community and
Technical College to receive the six hours of college credit.)
3. Preferential Interview Status:
Participants who successfully complete the Bank Teller Training program will be given the
opportunity to interview for employment with participating banks that have teller position
vacancies.
