[PSC 611] A Seminar on Robert C. Byrd
Course Description: The purpose of this course is to introduce the student to the complexities of the U.S. Senate, through the life and legacy of Senator Robert C. Byrd. As such, the course offers a broad overview of the American legislative system and a micro-level look though one senator.

[HON 293]: Yeager IV Seminar

Course Description: In this seminar, we will examine recent scandals and controversies in memoir that have rocked the genre of creative nonfiction, testing its boundaries and the reader-writer contract – an implicit understanding that the writer of nonfiction is telling the truth. We’ll look at select “false memoirs” and other works that provoke difficult questions and, often, strong reactions in the reader. Along the way, students will compose their own purposefully “twisted” nonfiction writing, exploring their own relationship to the truth in a post-truth era.
