According to the Americans With Disabilities Act of 1990 Reasonable Accommodations (for educational settings) means making appropriate adjustments or modifications of examinations, training materials or policies; the provision of qualified readers or interpreters and other similar accommodations for individuals with disabilities. Marshall University's Disabled Student Services Offices recognizes the following as reasonable accommodations:
In order to receive an academic accommodation, a student should provide documentation to the Disabled Student Services Office, the HELP Program, and/or the Student Athlete Program Offices. This office will then notify the professor of the recommended reasonable accommodation. Although a professor may provide an accommodation if they choose, consulting any of the above offices is recommended.
