complete 75 hours of an internship to receive one credit hour.
The internship should consist of title searches, preparing legal
documents, assisting attorneys with client interviews and other
legal research.

All internship sites are provided
by Marshall University's Career Planning and Placement. Interns
work as pharmacy technicians or laboratory assistants. Chemistry
interns start during their Junior year and must complete 100 hours per
one credit hour.

Internships for the College of
Education are conducted in the WV public counties Cabell (e.g. Cabell
Midland High School and Huntington High School). Wayne, Mason, Logan
and Mingo. Internships in KY include Boyd County and the town of
Ashland. For individuals with disabilities Dr. Karickoff
suggested that Logan and Mingo would hire extra supervisors if
necessary and that all public schools should follow guidelines for
hiring disabled employees. Refer to the yellow copy of student
teacher evaluation.

Capstones are similar to
Internships. Students must complete 200 hours of work involving
"hands-on-experience". Students working with schools
help the school counselor with developing activities in school.

and guidance. Interns must complete 600 hours.

to areas in courts, corrections, law firms and security
corporations. Duties will include investigation, patrolling,
administration and records. Interns must complete 135 hours of
work for every three hours of academic credit. |

Capstone - Geography (GEO 420/520)
The last capstone project was conducted in North Bend State Park,
Ritchie County. The student decides on their topic and then does
data collection in the field over a two-day period. All
capstones are conducted in public and state parks which are always
handi-cap accessible. Students are not asked to complete and
activities that go beyond their abilities.

| To complete an
internship the student must have 240 hours plus 15 hours of community
service in any area. The internship should consist of computer
work at the internship facility (overseeing networks or WebPages).
The internship is completed under course 299. |
