Constitution Week

In 2004 Senator Byrd included the provision in U.S. law that designates September 17th, the date of the signing of the Constitution in 1787, as Constitution Day. So that Americans, especially our youth from kindergarten to college, would acquaint themselves with the text of the Constitution and study its importance.

Senator Byrd’s action inspired us here at Marshall to inaugurate our celebration of Constitution Week in September 2005 and to include in this years celebration a forum on civic responsibility named in his honor.
