Director:
Angela Holley
Angela Holley began working with the Heart
of Appalachia Talent Search Program in December of 2002. Prior to being the
Director of the HATS Program, she worked as the Director of the Student
Support Services Program at Ashland Community College located in Ashland,
KY.
Angela is a graduate of Marshall University
where she completed a B. A. in Psychology as well as an M. A. in Student
Affairs Counseling. Angela was a participant in the Student Support Services
Program at Marshall and has experienced first-hand how TRIO programs
contribute to student success.
"The Student Support Services Program made a significant impact on my
academic and career choices. Although I had the academic ability to achieve,
I had no idea how to channel my potential. It is a privilege and honor to
have come full circle and now serve as the Director of the Heart of
Appalachia Talent Search Program at Marshall University. In this position, I
hope to help students see the value of TRIO Programs as well as the value
that they hold within themselves."

Tira
Runyon graduated from Marshall University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Counseling
and is currently working on a Master’s Degree. She will be serving the
following schools: Crum Middle, Ft. Gay Middle, Tolsia High, Wayne High,
Wayne Middle and Buffalo Middle School.
Tira has a daughter currently attending the
University of Louisville in Louisville, Kentucky. However, she will be
taking her daughter to Disney World to work as one of the many Disney

Shannon Zornes
is the Heart of Appalachia Talent Search Secretary. She joined the
Talent Search team in August 2004. An Ohio native, Shannon is a graduate
of Ashland Community and Technical College with an Associates degree in
Office Systems. As a low-income first-generation college student,
Shannon is a well aware of the challenges that our students will face
as they pursue their own college dreams and goals.
A key member of the Talent Search team, Shannon helps organize such
events as the Junior/Senior Trip to Nashville, 7th & 8th Grade Summer
Camp and
college campus visits. Shannon is
also a
mother and stays busy with her two teenage children as well as her
beautiful baby daughter. Shannon looks forward to meeting all of the
Talent Search participants in the many activities planned for this
upcoming year.

Scott Robertson
is the newest addition to the HATS staff. He began working with the program
in November 2006. Scott hails from Wayne, WV and is the younger of two
children. He was the first in his family to receive a college degree. He
received his Bachelor’s Degree from Marshall in Social Studies 5-12. He is
currently working on his Master’s in Student Affairs Counseling. Scott has
been very active with the various TRiO programs at Marshall. In high school,
he was involved with the Upward Bound program and while a student at
Marshall he worked as their Student Assistant, Office Manager and Head Male
Advisor during their Summer Program. At Marshall he was involved in the
Student Support Program. He also worked as the Supplemental History
Instructor for the program.Scott
serves Point Pleasant High and Middle School, Mason County Career Center and
Wahama High School in Mason County. In Wayne County he serves, CK Middle
School, Spring Valley High School, and Vinson Middle School. Scott looks
forward to working with and getting to know all of the students.
