Focusing on student success, the Heart of Appalachia Talent Search Program provides academic support resources to qualified youths with potential for success at the postsecondary level.

The program offers a series of interdependent academic support services in an effort to increase high school/GED completion rates as well as the pursuit of postsecondary education or training.

Academic Services Provided:

• Study Skills Development to ensure learning excellence,
• Career Planning and supportive counseling in an attempt to contribute to the advancement of the individual,
• Financial Aid Counseling to secure the financial resources needed to pursue educational goals,
• Cultural Enrichment to increase an understanding and respect for past and present cultures, and
• Academic Advising to increase student graduation as well as securing admission to programs of post-secondary education.
