19th-Century British Literature; Sermons as Literature
Robert taught in Texas for 14 years before moving to West Virginia in the summer of 2009. His research specialty is Victorian nonfiction, especially sermons and other forms of religious speech. At Marshall he has taught a variety of courses, including British Literature from 1800 (both face-to-face and online), Science Fiction, and Forbidden Literature. The father of boy-girl twins in the marching band at Hurricane High, Dr. Ellison spends a lot of time at competitions and football games when he’s not teaching!
