Online
Tutoring
The Writing Center offers asynchronous online tutoring via email to students
who cannot come to the Writing Center for a face-to-face appointment.
Our tutors read and respond to online submissions electronically, and
the paper is returned via email within 48-hours. As with face-to-face
sessions, tutors attend to larger issues such as focus, development, and
source usage and offer written feedback that will guide students toward
recognizing patterns of error in their writing.
Please submit your writing well in advance. Last minute submissions cannot
be accepted. Papers should be no longer than 10 typed, double-spaced pages.
SUBMISSION INSTRUCTIONS:
-
Open the online log form,
fill it out completely, and save it to your computer.
-
Compose an email to
writing@marshall.edu. Attach your paper, the online log form,
and the assignment (if you have an electronic version available) to your
email.
PLEASE NOTE:
-
Your papers must be saved as a MS Word
file or in Rich Text Format.
-
Please allow for a 48-hour (M-F) turnaround for tutor feedback.
-
You must be a student enrolled in Marshall University courses to work with
an online tutor.
