The Kansas City Police Regional Criminalistics Division is seeking applicants for the position of Forensic Specialist IV (Latent Print Examiner). This is a position for an experienced and IAI Certified Latent Print Examiner. Duties: include the examination of evidence for the presence of latent prints; preparation of latent print development reagents; conducting comparisons of latent prints to finger and palm prints; entry of latent prints into AFIS; documenting findings through notes, images, etc.; preparing written reports; testifying as an expert witness; and occasionally responding to crimes scenes. Qualifications: a bachelor’s degree with science emphasis from a 4-year accredited college/university; International Association for Identification Certification as a Latent Print Examiner. Applicants will be subject to an extensive background investigation including employment history verification, education/training verification, criminal record check, polygraph examination, drug screening and will be required to obtain Kansas City, Missouri residency within 9 months of employment.
