Lance West

Vice President for Development

Lance West is the Vice President for Development and supervises the college constituency gift officers and also works closely with the University’s major fundraising initiatives; targeting gifts of $100,000 and above. West previously was the Vice President for the Alumni Development and served as co-director for Marshall’s campaign for National Prominence and also assistant to the President.

He joined Marshall in 1995 as associate vice president of athletic and university development, overseeing all athletic and Big Green Scholarship Foundation fundraising, in addition was involved with fundraising for the new Drinko Library. Beginning in 1996 he served as Director of Intercollegiate Athletics.

Prior to coming to Marshall, West was associate athletic director for external affairs at the University of Idaho in Moscow, Idaho, following a stint as assistant athletic director for development and other duties at Idaho.

West received his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Idaho and his Master of Arts degree from Marshall University.

Lance and his wife, Rebecca, reside in Huntington. The couple has three children, Maribeth, Lance Jr. and Clark.
