MEMBERSHIP REQUIREMENTS
for the
MARSHALL UNIVERSITY CHAPTER

NEW MEMBER ELIGIBILITY

Students invited into membership in THE GAMMA BETA PHI SOCIETY must be committed to excellence in education, to good character, and to service. They must be enrolled in a program leading to an associate, bachelor, or graduate degree and have completed at least twelve credit hours of college work. New members must scholastically rank within the top 20% of their class. Graduate students must complete at least twelve credit hours of graduate work prior to induction.

BENEFITS

Recognition and publicity are the primary benefits of membership in any honor society. GAMMA BETA PHI is not just an honor society, so its members also enjoy the satisfaction of active participation in meaningful service projects and camaraderie with other honor students.

MEMBERSHIP REQUIREMENTS
In order to remain in good standing, each member must earn points. All members are required to obtain six points per semester. The types and combinations are listed here.

Business: Each member must have two business points per semester. Business points are received by attending meetings. Be sure to sign the attendance sheet.

Service:
Each member must have two service points per semester. One service point is awarded for every two hours of service completed.

Miscellaneous:
Each member may receive the remaining two points using any combination of business or service points. You may also use social points. Social points are awarded by attending chapter sponsored social events.
