“Schools and Race: The World Students See”
Dr. Caitlin Howley is Director of Evaluation for the Appalachia Regional Comprehensive Center at Edvantia. Her work has appeared in such publications as the Journal of Appalachian Studies, the Journal of Research on Rural Education, the Peabody Journal of Education, and Educational Foundations. Dr. Howley holds a Ph.D. in sociology, with specializations in education and race, from Temple University. Her dissertation, Remote Possibilities: Rural Children's Out of School Activities and Educational Aspirations, won the 2006 Outstanding Dissertation Award from the Rural Education Special Interest Group of the American Educational Research Association.
