Welcome to the General Education Assessment Repository. This site permits students, faculty, and administrators to participate in assessment and continuous improvement of Marshall University’s general education, commonly known as the Core Curriculum.

Students: If you are taking a general education course in which a GEAR upload of your academic work is required, your instructor probably directed you to this site. Follow login instructions below for more information.

Faculty: If you are teaching a course in the Core Curriculum and are requiring your students to make a GEAR upload, you may monitor student uploads from this site. Follow login instructions below for more information.

Assessors/Administrators: If you are participating in university-wide assessment of general education at Marshall University, you will need to use GEAR in order to access the materials you need. Follow login instructions below for more information.

Logging In

Click the Login button to the right to enter the system. Use your MUNet Username (e.g., smythe168) and Password to log into GEAR. This is the same username and password that you use to log into any campus computer. If this doesn’t work, you may need to add @marshall.edu to your username, like so: smythe168@marshall.edu.

Students: Do NOT use your “live mail” email address (smythe168@live.marshall.edu).
