Welcome Back!

Welcome to another exciting academic year! Hopefully you had a restful and productive summer break, which by the way, it is not too late to submit your pictures and stories of the places you visited.

As some of you may know, this is a weekly publication intended to provide brief updates on department activities, student accomplishments, opportunities- both, academic and employment, and updates on alumni. Therefore, we urge to send information to the department regarding any of these topics. We will be happy to share them with the geography community.

As a quick reminder, there are two conferences taking place this fall semester not too far from campus, and we highly encourage our students to consider attending. The Applied Geography Conference will take place in Kent, OH from October 31st to November 2nd, and the SEDAAG meeting will be in Johnson City, TN from November 17 to 19. These are great conferences to attend to share your work with fellow geographers, attend talks and workshops, meet student and faculty from other geography departments, network with potential collaborators and employers, and of-course to travel and explore a different part of the country.
