Assistant Professor - Structural Geology
Tenure-track position. Salary: Commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Ph.D. is preferred at the time appointment, but outstanding ABDs will be considered. We seek first and foremost an outstanding teaching or the demonstrated potential to become one. Ability to develop and teach Geophysics is desirable. Interest and/or experience with Appalachian geology are also desirable.
Primary upper level teaching responsibilities will be courses in Structural Geology, Geological Field Mapping, and Computer Methods. Introductory teaching responsibilities will include Physical Geology. The department also seeks candidates who will contribute to the University's general education curriculum with its emphasis on a common First Year Seminar and core curriculum courses that enhance student's critical thinking, and the College's support of interdisciplinary programs of study. The normal teaching load includes one upper level and one introductory course per semester. Release time will be given to the successful candidate during the first three years to facilitate the development of a high quality, externally supported research program.
