Just as somebody said," only when you will leave a place, could you find that it is much more beautiful than before", Now I have the same feelings. It is time to say good-bye to Huntington, so many unforgettable things appear before my eyes again, reminding me the happy days spent here. Among all of these, what impress me most are the beautiful environment, the lovely people and the unsophisticated customs in Huntington.
Huntington is beautiful, exactly to say, marvelously beautiful. Undoubtedly anyone who has been here would admit that it is a good place to enjoy nature, fresh air, bright sunshine, green mountains and terrific weather. Whenever you go, scenery as beautiful as landscape paintings is right there. Standing several well-shaped trees before white house and kaleidoscopic mountains behind expansive green is always the typical scenery of Huntington in my mind, which seems like a placid and dreamy poet. Ritter Park is the place nearby University Courtyard where I like to go. Lying on the meadow, you can see the white cloud flowing on the blue sky, treetop swaying gently, and the mountain forest staring at you silently. With your eyes closed, you can feel the breeze passing by your ears and the fresh smell of green. All these likely make you one part of nature, forgetting all the other things.
Huntington's beautiful surroundings bring up the friendly people and the unadorned social customs here. Just like the unpolluted nature, people are rarely warm-hearted and unsophisticated. In Huntington, a sincere smile is always the best welcome language. No matter where, when and who you encounter, a genuine smile will show up on their faces, giving you a sense of being warm, easy and friendly. On Thanksgiving Jianhua and I went to Rotary Park, unfamiliar with the road, we were lost near the highway. Just when we didn't know where to go, unexpectedly a car stopped beside us and we heard the sweetest sound from a young man: " CAN I HELP YOU? ". During our stay at Huntington, we experienced a special Halloween festival for the first time. That was a warm night, walking along the street, we saw many joyful kids running and laughing with bags full of candy in their hands. To learn and get the pleasure of "trickle and treat" by ourselves, we went straightforward to a house decorated with lights, an elegant old couple welcomed us, filling our bags with candies. We really became kids, wonderful!
Huntington leaves me with such a deep impression in my life. I think I will miss it when I go back to China. Then the familiar song "Take Me Home, Country Roads" will make me recollect those happy days in Huntington, and bring me back to beautiful West Virginia, at least in my dreams.
