Huntington, the Best Place

by Qiong Wang

A lot of international students need to choose a good place to study and live. Sometimes it is difficult for them to make decision. Someone may get good or bad choice. In my opinion, in concerned about categories - university, housing, weather, leisure, transportation, crime, arts and culture. Huntington is the best place for international students living and studying.

First, there is Marshall University, a top-quality university with nine colleges and schools offering over one hundred undergraduate, graduate and doctoral programs. 16,000 students attend Marshall University, including 300 international students from 50 countries. Students come from Asia, Middle East, Europe and South America. The campus is within walking distance to hotels, shopping malls, restaurants, movie theaters, supermarkets and banks. On campus, students have access to a medical center, computer labs, indoor swimming pool, fitness centers and library. It is a really good university for international students.

Second, from natural beauty to cultural diversity points. Huntington, W.Va., is the largest city in the Tri-State Area where Kentucky and Ohio meet West Virginia, Huntington is still kind of a rural environment, rich in outdoor beauty, with lush parks and plenty of recreational choices close at hand. If you like to explore nature, fish or hike, there are ample opportunities just minutes away. There's a lot of culture here, and it's well supported. It's a wonderful place to raise a family in a friendly, safe environment; Families here benefit from a deep sense of community, strong faith traditions and neighborhood schools. Even with many big-city conveniences. The area suffers little traffic congestion, a low cost-of-living coupled with a low crime rate, and the presence of strong family and religious values create a quality of life that few places can match and that few people would trade.

In addition, Huntington is a university town. People are proud of Marshall University. The whole community supports Marshall University. Marshall University football team is excellent, and impressive. "Go herd" make everyone together. Huntington now has been becoming the international town with 300 international students and many different national restaurants. As a Marshall University international student, you will feel much better in Huntington. Because people in Huntington are always treat the foreign students friendly.

Finally, with the good university, natural beauty, friendly community and culture diversity, Huntington it is indeed a nice place for international students studying and living. I strongly think of that International Students will enjoy their life in Huntington, West Virginia - a safe and comfortable small city in the U.S.A
