Program Overview:
The Graduate Certificate in Elementary Science Education requires 21 hours of course credit. The certificate is designed for teachers who wish to pursue a master's degree with an emphasis in Elementary Science Education .

Program Highlights:

The Certificate combines theory, research, and practical applications to enhance content knowledge and techniques of delivering instruction through the use of hands-on discovery/inquiry teaching.

Student pursuing the graduate certificate in Elementary Science Education are eligible for federal financial aid providing they takes at least 4.5 hours (1/2 time enrollment) in a semester.

Prospective certificate-only students should apply for admission to Marshall University as a Certificate/Professional Development student and select the Elementary Science Education Certificate on the application form.

Applicants should follow the admissions process described in the Graduate Catalog, or at the Graduate Admissions website at:

Students can pursue the graduate certificate while enrolled in the master's program in Elementary Education by submitting a Secondary Program Request form.

Applicants must hold a valid K-6 or K-8 professional license.
