Graduate Assistant for Academic Initiatives & Development

Marshall University’s Department of Housing and Residence Life seeks outgoing, energetic, and skilled applicants for a Graduate Assistant responsible for providing administrative support, residence hall programming support, and academic initiative development to the Assistant Director for Academic Initiatives.

Major Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

* Administrative Support

Work closely with Assistant Director to maintain database of residence life programming proposals, evaluations, and assessment data

Maintain inventory of supplies for programming resource areas

Create and maintain calendar of all residence life programming efforts

Provide general assistance to the Residence Life staff with programming efforts

* Academic Initiatives

Assist AD with the development and coordination of residential academic recognition programs

Assist in department and campus-wide academic initiatives

* Attend weekly one-on-one meetings with supervisor

* Department Efforts

Serve on the Academic Initiatives and Programming Committee

Assist AD with Week of Welcome events

Assist with Academic mentor programs, initiatives

Assist AD with LLC and FIG development

* Other duties as assigned

Requirements
* Bachelor’s Degree

* One year experience in live-in residential management or similar leadership position(s)

* Enrolled in a Marshall University graduate degree program at time of appointment

* Maintain a 3.0 GPA

Compensation

The position is 20 hours per week and includes $10,000 stipend distributed over ten months. Tuition Waiver to be distributed as follows:
