Plan of Study

Each degree-seeking student at the master's or education specialist level must develop a Plan of Study with his or her graduate advisor. A Plan of Study approved by the department/program and the appropriate graduate dean must be filed in the college office before the student registers for the 12th semester hour. Students who lack a Plan of Study may not be able to register for classes and may delay their academic progress.

When to Submit
A Plan must be submitted for approval BEFORE a student registers for the 12th credit hour. A generic Plan of Study form is available in the Graduate College office (Old Main 113) or click below. Many departments use their own customized form.

Changes in Approved Plan of Study
T
he Plan of Study is a student's "blueprint" for completing degree requirements. A student's certification for graduation depends on completion of the Plan of Study. If changes to the Plan are necessary, please be sure to submit a changed Plan of Study to the appropriate college office.
