Program Overview:
The Graduate Certificate in Medieval and Renaissance Studies requires 15 hours of course credit. The Certificate is intended for students interested in interdisciplinary and cross-cultural studies of the period from the Late Antiquity to the end of the seventeenth century.

Program Highlights:

  • Students can be simultaneously enrolled in the English MA program.
  • Most courses qualify for teachers’ re-certification and professional continuing education.

  • Prospective certificate-only students should apply for admission to Marshall University as a Certificate/Professional Development student and select the Medieval and Renaissance Studies Certificate on the application form.
  • Applicants should follow the admissions process described in the Graduate Catalog, or at the Graduate Admissions website.
  • Students already enrolled in the English master’s program should submit a Secondary Program Request form:
