Application Materials for admission to all MUGC programs that do not have a formal deadline, must be on file at least two weeks prior to the start of any term.

       
  Test Requirements  

To be admitted to the program, students must meet the following requirements:

1.  Applicants must score a minimum of 800 on the verbal and quantitative sections of the GRE, and must score a 4 on the GRE writing sample.

2.  Applicants must have a minimum 2.5 average for their undergraduate coursework.  Students with less than a 3.0 undergraduate average must attain a 900 score on the verbal and quantitative sections of the GRE and a score of 4 on the GRE writing sample.

3.  International student applicants also must have a minimum score of 525 on the paper Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or 195 on the computer-based test.

       
   Program Information   The M. A. degree in Communication Studies provides an opportunity for students to develop individual programs of theory, research, and application among the areas of interpersonal, organizational, educational and public communication. The program is designed for students who seek careers as communication professionals or who intend to pursue further graduate study in the field.
