Improving Reading Through Vocabulary Development

A one week summer institute designed to improve student reading capabilities by increasing teacher knowledge and skill in vocabulary development.  The Summer Institute will be held in July.  A follow-up training session will occur in October/November 2005.  The immediate goal of the summer institute will be to provide teachers with the background, knowledge and skills needed to become more proficient in vocabulary instruction.  The ultimate goal of this training is to improve student comprehension and overall reading ability/skills.
